    Hello,

We give you our warm welcome to the beautiful Villanova neighborhood.

On this page you can find useful information about the neighborhood where you are staying, the services of the city of Cagliari, shops near you, cultural events and much more!

    Meet the Neighboorhood of Villanova

Villanova is one of the historic neighborhoods of Cagliari and winds around pedestrian streets populated by children, workers, elderly people, pets and tourists.

Here you will always find someone on the street willing to help you and give you the information you are looking for, so make sure you also respect the residents of the neighborhood by following a few rules of coexistence.

Please avoid noise and be mindful when you drag heavy luggage near residential entrances during rest hours.

    Waste Collection

The Municipality of Cagliari carries out waste sorting through the door-to-door system. Make sure you use the bins provided by your accommodation facility, and leave them by the entrance on the indicated days. If you have any doubts, please consult the rules and the collection calendar.

Help us keep our neighborhood clean 🙂 Do not throw garbage bags on the street, in other residents’ bins or near public bins. The latter are designed for the disposal of small waste and not to collect garbage bags.

If you have any doubts, do not hesitate to ask the landlord of your accommodation or a neighbor.

    Roads & Parking

The Villanova neighborhood is entirely Z.T.L., i.e. a limited traffic zone where only authorized vehicles can access 24/7.

Furthermore, part of the neighborhood is entirely designated as a pedestrian area; access to these streets by vehicles without authorization is always prohibited, as it is parking.

For all unauthorized vehicles, access to the Z.T.L. and parking lots is limited to certain time slots and areas: if you do not want to incur fines, make sure you pay attention to the road signs at the entrances of the neighborhood and do not park where you find the “P – residents” sign.

You can find more information on the Z.T.L. areas at this link, while closing times of the limited area can be found at this link.

Not sure where to park? You can easily find car space at the multi-storey car parks in viale Regina Elena and in via Manzoni, and at the parking lots in viale Regina Elena.

    Public Transport

Cagliari is well-equipped with buses that can take you to any corner of the city.

We recommend that you consult the CTM website and download the CTM bus finder app, where you can easily buy tickets, consult routes and follow the bus you are waiting for in real time. Line 7 runs through Villanova, and also allows you to reach other historical districts (Marina, Stampace, Castello).

Do you want to leave Cagliari? On the ARST website you can find all the extra-urban bus lines available to you.

Finally, if you want to avail of car sharing, the PlayCar service is available in Cagliari.
